Liquid silicone products are favored by more and more people due to their excellent product properties, such as tear resistance, resilience, yellowing resistance, thermal stability and heat resistance and aging resistance. From the early mother and baby liquid silicone products, it can be seen that more and more liquid silicone products appear in our lives. Liquid silicone has the characteristics of good fluidity and fast vulcanization, so the production of liquid silicone products is more difficult than solid silicone products. So, how are liquid silicone products made? How is it formed?
In the liquid silicone product molding process, the typical heating room is electric heating, usually using electric heating wire heaters, heating tubes or heating plates. In the one-time curing process of liquid silicone, the uniform distribution of temperature in the mold is very important. In large molds, the most economical heating method is the oil temperature control method.
According to the different vulcanization methods, silica gel can be divided into two categories: high temperature vulcanized silica gel and room temperature vulcanized silica gel. Our Silicone Products Factory believes that no matter what type of silicone, no exothermic phenomenon occurs during vulcanization. High-temperature vulcanized silica gel is a high-molecular-weight polysiloxane. RTV silica gel generally has a low molecular weight and one or two functional groups at both ends of the molecular chain. Under certain conditions, these functional groups can react to form high molecular weight. cross-linked structure.
Room temperature vulcanized silica gel can be divided into condensation type and addition type according to its vulcanization mechanism, and can be divided into two-component and single-component types according to its packaging method. The nature of the silicon-oxygen bond that constitutes the main chain of silica gel determines that silica gel has the advantages that natural rubber and other rubbers do not have. It has the widest working temperature range and excellent high and low temperature resistance.
In addition, it also has excellent thermal stability, electrical insulation, weather resistance, ozone resistance, air permeability, high transparency, tear strength, excellent heat dissipation and excellent adhesion, fluidity and mold release. . Some special silicone rubbers also have excellent oil resistance, solvent resistance, radiation resistance and use at ultra-high and low temperature.
Within the operating temperature range, silicone rubber can not only maintain a certain degree of softness, resilience and surface hardness, but also have no significant changes in mechanical properties, and can resist long-term thermal aging. If the mold is designed with a cold runner system, there must be a suitable barrier between the hot and cold interface, which is essential. For the overall mold heating system, an insulating layer should be placed between the mold and the template to minimize heat loss.
The last thing to note is that solid silicone products are different from liquid silicone products in terms of processing and production. If a merchant wants to customize a liquid silicone product, the cost will be much higher than that of solid silicone products. Only one set of liquid silicone products will cost you the mold. They are much more expensive than solid ones, and generally less than tens of thousands of dollars. Moreover, the liquid silicone process is more complicated than ordinary silicone. Therefore, when we customize liquid silicone products, we must make a good cost budget.
